KATHMANDU, April 14 : Police have arrested 18 individuals who were involved in looting Rs 6 million by luring a man under the pretense of a land deal.
According to Kathmandu District Police (KDP), the group had called 42-year-old Ritesh Lama of Bouddha to finalize a land advance payment on April 10. As Lama arrived in a car (Ba 01-029 Cha 3272) with the cash, he was intercepted near Nepal Tara School in Manohara Town Planning by another group sent to track him. The assailants then looted Rs 6 million from the vehicle.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team of KDP apprehended the suspects on the evening of April 13 from various locations in the capital.
The arrested include Raj Parajuli of Lolang, Hariram Khatri, Rajesh Bhandari, and Sarki Majhi of Ramechhap, Kushal Basnet of Solukhumbu, and Ranjit Lama and Suyog Lama of Kavre. Others from Ramechhap arrested are Uttam Magar, Raju Magar, Tikbahadur Magar, Rameshbahadur Magar, Lovebahadur Magar, Rupak Magar, and Sagar Magar, along with Dawa Lama, Babu Tamang, Sujan Lama, and Rivel Lama from Kavre.
Police recovered Rs 3 million in cash, two scooters, and a motorcycle from the group. Investigation is underway under robbery charges
