KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah has accused the state of looting land from people in Tinkune.


Speaking at the First Koteshwor Festival, Mayor Balen stated that the state has been looting the land for a period longer than his own age and emphasized that the dispute should be resolved as soon as possible.

He stated that even though the two-thirds government of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML can do anything, there has been no progress.


Balen said, "The Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Finance Minister are all from his own party, and even a ward committee has been elected by the Prime Minister's party. If the dispute over the land in Tinkune is not resolved now, it will never be resolved."


He claimed that the government has taken no steps regarding the long-standing dispute over compensation for the Tinkune land.
