16,257 trees to be felled for transmission line

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The government has decided to waive the tax that may incur in Civil Service Awards. A cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar Thursday evening took a decision to this effect, according the government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav.



Every year, the government awards a number of civil servants for their outstanding performances. [break]



The cabinet meeting, likewise, has decided to accept Rs 3.4 billion grant and loan from the International Monetary Fund for the implementation of Improved Seeds Project for farmers.



The cabinet meeting, among other things, also decided to give permission to Nepal Electricity Authority for felling down 16,257 trees for constructing Hetauda-Bardaghat transmission line and for felling another 15 trees for constructing suspension bridges in Kusum Ghat of Bardiya district.
