“We have coordinated with India’s Ministry of External Affairs to help repatriate the Nepalis along with their own citizens,” said Minister Rana, adding, “The 11 Nepalis are currently in the Iranian city of Mashad and are expected to reach India by Tuesday.”
She added that the process of bringing them back to Nepal is already underway, though one individual still needs a travel document.
Regarding the five Nepalis detained in Iran, Rana said the government is trying to explore ways to rescue them as well, especially amid the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel. “This might be an opportunity to bring them back,” she said.
