KATHMANDU, Dec 7: A total of 11 commercial banks have announced to provide dividends to their shareholders from the profits of Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25 despite the slowdown in banks’ business amid soaring non-performing loans.
According to Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), nine out of 20 ‘A’ class financial institutions have not submitted their dividend plans till the date. Out of those declaring the dividends, Everest Bank is providing the highest of 20 percent dividends to the bank’s shareholders, while Citizens Bank has approved to distribute 5.263 dividends.

Out of its 20 percent returns, Everest Bank is providing six percent bonus shares and 14 percent cash dividends. NMB Bank has decided to distribute 10 percent returns including five percent bonus shares.
Nepal SBI Bank is providing nine percent dividends including four percent bonus shares. The state-owned Agriculture Development Bank is providing returns of 13 percent of its paid up capital that includes 3.25 percent bonus shares.
Laxmi Sunrise Bank has declared 10.53 percent returns including 10 percent bonus shares. Sanima Bank through its Annual General Meeting (AGM) has approved 7.3685 percent cash dividends to its shareholders. Global IME Bank is providing eight percent cash dividends, Siddhartha Bank 5.53 percent returns and Standard Chartered Bank is providing 19 percent cash dividends. Machhapuchchhre Bank has decided to provide eight percent returns including four percent bonus shares.
