KATHMANDU, May 13 : Police arrested 10 individuals from various parts of the country on Monday for possession of illegal drugs.
In Mechinagar-6, Jhapa, police detained Saru Rai, 25, and Sujata Rai, 20, with 610 milligrams of brown heroin-like substance. Officers from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Kakarbhitta, apprehended them while they were entering Nepal on foot from India.
In Gaurigunj-3, Jhapa, police arrested Harichandra Karki, 29, with 1.43 grams of brown sugar-like substance. He was riding a motorcycle with registration number Me5P 3384.

In Biratnagar-16, Morang, authorities seized 12 ampoules each of Lupigesic, Phenergan, and Diazepam from Sanu Majhi, 28, and Anita Majhi, 20. The duo had also crossed the border on foot.
Police in Pokhara arrested Hari Nepali, 29, with 2.6 kilograms of cannabis from his residence in Ramkrishna Tole, Ward-4. A CRV team from Chipledhunga conducted the search and arrest.
In Bhojpur-12, police apprehended Sanjiv Shrestha, 22, with 182 tablets of Tramadol and 70 tablets of Spaspan from his home.
Authorities in Birendranagar-11, Surkhet, caught Bijay Kalung, 38, with 10.17 grams of brown sugar-like substance while he was traveling from Nepalgunj in an EV bearing plate number Ko.2-001 Ja 0692.
In Sarawal-6, Nawalparasi West, police seized 5,020 tablets of Tramadol from Hridayesh Chamar, 27, who was riding an Indian motorcycle (UP 56 AH 8873) from India.
In Bardiya, officers arrested an 18-year-old boy from Barbardiya-6 with 200 milligrams of brown sugar-like substance from the roadside in Kotharpur.
Police have launched further investigations into all the cases.
