“Seventeen other women are still held captive by the traffickers in Lucknow. They provide food and other basic facilities. However, no one is allowed to walk outside the building.”
On the basis of a phone call made by Sita to her husband Ramesh, police had tracked three persons, including Sita´s mother Sarita, on suspicion of trafficking her.
Ramesh had filed a case against the suspects. However, while the case is still sub judice, Sita has claimed that her mother and relatives are innocent. “My mother and relatives not involved in sending me to Lucknow,” she said.
