The top prize went to three students, Bishal Mahat, Kaushal Wagle and Kushal Wagle, for their app streamlining the ordering process for temporary homes. The runners up, from the British College and Ascol College, included software geared to engaging young volunteers as well as an online virtual marketplace system where debris material can be sold and bought. "I am highly impressed by the kind of apps these young minds have developed so quickly over the past three days," said UN Resident Coordinator Jamie McGoldrick addressing the final award ceremony."Given Nepal's current post-disaster challenge, it is very important that we make smart use of innovative technology. Innovation in our ongoing recovery and reconstruction works could help us maximize impact while also ensuring transparency," he added.
