TAPLEJUNG, Feb 26: The Taplejung administration has lifted the curfew in the Phungling area.
On Tuesday, the District Security Committee held a meeting and decided to lift the curfew, effective from 11 PM. Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma issued a notice in the evening, announcing the curfew's removal based on the committee's recommendation, starting at 11 PM.
The "No Cable Car" supporters presented four conditions for dialogue with the government on Tuesday afternoon, stating they would only engage in talks once their conditions were met. In response, the administration immediately lifted the curfew.
The administration had imposed the curfew in the Phungling area from 5 AM on Sunday after the "No Cable Car" supporters intensified their protest.
