Sixth Int'l Indigenous festival on July 12-15

KATHMANDU, July 10: The sixth Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival is to be held in the capital from July 12 to 15.



A total of 79 short films, documentaries, feature film, animation film, music video will be exhibited at the festival organized by Indigenous Film Archive, according to the Festival Coordinator, Sanjog Lafamagar.[break]



The host country, Nepal, is being represented by 27 films depicting the lifestyle and stories of various indigenous groups in the country.



Also being represented are Australia, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Cambodia, Switzerland, Ecuador, Tanzania, Finland, Mexico, Norway, South Africa, Surinam, India, the Philippines, Taiwan and the United States of America.



The jury to select the top three films of the festival comprises Australian Producer and Director Androwe Bhayal, Rita Dutta of India and anthropologist Dr Damber Chemjong of Nepal.



The festival will also include stalls showcasing indigenous costume, food and culture, seminars, handicraft, audio visuals, art and craft among others.
