KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Supreme Court (SC) has ruled that the land which businessman Min Bahadur Gurung intended to provide to the CPN-UML is legally compliant.

A division bench of justices Abdul Aziz Musalman and Bal Krishna Dhakal dismissed the writ petition filed against the CPN-UML, ruling the matter as legally compliant.

Earlier, the SC had issued an interim order instructing businessman Gurung not to transfer the ownership rights of the property to the CPN-UML.

A single bench of Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel had issued the order stating that transferring the land and constructing a party office was against the Political Parties Act, and instructed that the transfer be halted for the time being.

The SC annulled that order and dismissed the writ petition on Monday.
