Samuel, who arrived here for a five-day visit to take stock of Nepal´s political situation, met Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, other NC leaders and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayankaji Shrestha on Sunday to know their views on the peace process and constitution drafting.[break]
"He expressed concern over the delay in constitution drafting and peace process," said Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, who was present at the meeting between Koirala and Samuel.
The UN official, who is supposed to prepare a report on Nepal´s peace process for the UN Department of Political Affairs based on his visit to Nepal, also met Shrestha.
The UN Security Council is about to discuss Nepal´s peace process next week.
Samuel met Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal on Saturday and is scheduled to meet Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav, Defense Minister Bishnu Poudel and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Pampha Bhusal during his stay.
A UN official said this is one of Samuel´s regular visits to Nepal as the UN has been monitoring the developments in Nepal´s peace process.
