KATHMANDU, March 8: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is maintaining a strong lead in the ongoing vote counting under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives election, according to the latest results released by election authorities.
A total of 2,008,078 votes have been counted nationwide so far. The Rastriya Swatantra Party is leading with 1,031,718 votes, accounting for 51.38 percent of the total votes counted.

The Nepali Congress is in second position with 343,657 votes, which equals 17.11 percent of the total count, while the CPN-UML is in third position with 273,011 votes, or 13.60 percent.
Other parties have also secured portions of the PR vote share. The Nepali Communist Party has received 120,107 votes (5.98 percent), followed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 73,857 votes (3.68 percent). The Shram Sanskriti Party secured 43,242 votes (2.15 percent), while the Rastriya Pariwartan Party received 23,658 votes (1.18 percent) as the counting process continues.
