Rs 1.2 million worth firecrackers destroyed in Parsa

BIRGUNJ, Oct 19: Parsa police have destroyed firecrackers worth around Rs 1.2 million, seized during regular security checks across the district.

Police officials said the firecrackers, which are in high demand during the Tihar festival, were destroyed on Saturday. They were destroyed in the presence of local representatives and media personnel. The seized materials were collected from multiple locations during routine police operations aimed at curbing smuggling and maintaining law and order.


Police said the destroyed items also included illicit booze and other prohibited goods. The confiscated materials were burned and disposed of in a controlled setting. Officials stated that the public destruction of such goods serves a dual purpose — discouraging illegal trade and raising awareness among local residents about its consequences.
