Roji murder accused arrested

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Police on Tuesday arrested the main accused Raju Lohar, of the Rosy Maharjan murder case, from his own house at Lalbandi of Sarlahi.



Rosy Maharjan was shot dead in the Simpani jungle of Nallu VDC in Lalitpur by Raju Lohar, a few weeks ago.



A team of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) from Kathmandu was sent to Sarlahi to nab Lohar.



Another accomplish Kumar Ghising is still at large.



Lohar had been absconding since the incident. Subash Upreti, Roji´s boyfriend and son of well-to-do parents based at New Baneshwor, engaged three others to kill Roji and also attempted to extort money from the girl´s family after their relationship failed to meet his expectation.



The relationship fissure between the two batch-mates of Nepal College of Management took the nastiest turn as attempts by Subash including a suicide attempt reportedly to win back Roji failed, the police said.



According to investigation officers, Subash made up his mind for the crime after he met Raju Lohar, Kumar Ghising and Sachit Khadka of Thasikhel, all local criminals and planned to kill her.

 

MPCD nabbed Sachit and another accused Hussein Rai for hiding information after Uprety confessed the crime.



Kumar had taken a token money of Rs 175,000 from Subash for the crime. Police recovered two rounds of 7.62 MM bullets during a raid at his rented room at Thasikhel.
