KATHMANDU, July 31: The House panel earlier formed to probe the leakage of budget content submitted its report to Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang at his office in Singha Durbar on Sunday.
Laxman Ghimire, Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress who heads the probe panel, submitted the report at the House secretariat . The report which was expected to be tabled in the House meeting later today has been deferred after the House obstruction by the Nepali Congress.[break]
Initially, the probe panel was supposed to present its report on July 22. However, its term had been extended after the panel sought more time to complete its investigation.
On July 15, the probe panel was constituted after lawmakers from opposition parties interrupted the budget presentation session, taking strong exception to the leakage of secret information of the new fiscal budget.
Post Bahadur Bogati, Bhim Prasad Acharya, Jaya Puri Gharti, Hridayesh Tripathi and Ramesh Lekhak and Kalpana Rana, are the other members of the panel.
