Prez Yadav summons parliament session on May 7

KATHMANDU, May 1: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has summoned the parliament session on May 7.

A press release issued today by the Joint Secretary at the Office of the President, Bhupendra Prasad Poudel, states that President Dr Yadav summoned the parliament session at the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushil Koirala as per the Article 51 (1) of the Interim Constitution-2063 BS.

The parliament session will convene at New Baneshwor-based International Convention Centre at 3:00 pm on May 7.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday decided to recommend to the President for calling the parliament session.

Not only the lawmakers of the opposition parties, lawmakers of the ruling parties had also demanded calling the parliament session.

The parliament session would be focused on different issues including Bills, the damaged physical infrastructures by Saturday's earthquake, their reconstruction, development construction, relief and rehabilitation, among others. RSS
