"The party´s Central Committee decision to launch a month-long protest programs is a part of preparation for the revolt," Baidya said at a public function in Kathmandu.[break]
He said the Maoists will launch a month-long publicity campaign from the central to the local levels.
He informed that the peaceful agitation will kick-start mid-September for the protection of the nationalism.
Baidya said they opted to go for the revolt as other political parties resorted to every means to stop the Maoists from heading the government.
"Our main goal is to capture the state powers by means of revolution," he added.
Challenging the authenticity of the controversial audiotape scandal involving Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Baidya said it was just a conspiracy in the run up to the prime ministerial election.
