At the Mahendra Shanti School polling center, a total of 2,542 votes were cast out of 3,468 registered voters, according to volunteers stationed at the center.
Volunteers said the participation of young voters appeared relatively low compared to older voters. Nirmala Bhandari, a volunteer at the polling center, noted that the turnout of youth voters was limited, while older voters formed the majority of participants.
Another volunteer, Apsara Adhikari, said the voting process remained fully peaceful throughout the day. Bhandari added that the lower number of young voters could be due to many youths being abroad.
Security arrangements were in place at polling centers across the constituency, with personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police deployed.
Former prime minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli also cast his vote at the Mahendra Shanti School polling center around midday.
Candidates from different political parties were seen visiting polling stations during the day, including Nepali Congress candidate Kabir Rana, CPN-UML candidate Mahesh Basnet and Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Rajiv Khatri. Khatri arrived at the polling center shortly before voting concluded.
