Parbat man distributes Rs 26 lakh as relief to quake victims

PARBAT, June 7: A Nepali man who has been residing at USA has distributed Rs 26 lakh to the earthquake victims here in Thulpokhari VDC of the district as relief assitance.

Bhawani Shankar Sapkota, originally from Thulipokhari-1 of Parbat district and currently residing at USA, distributed the relief amount to the relatives of the deceased and those suffered damages to their houses in the April 25 devastating earthquake and subsequent aftershocks.Sapkota distributed Rs 250,000 each to the family members of the Bhaskar Sapkota and Gopla Poudel of the Thulpokhari VDC who killed in Kathmandu during the earthquake.

Sapkota had been working at Inland Tax Office while Poudel was serving in Nepal Police.

Likewise, he donated Rs 5 lakh to local Tribhuvan Higher Secondary School and Rs 15,000 each to the five Primary Schools in the VDC.

Similarly, he has provided cash assistance to the 170 households in the VDC who had suffered damages to their houses and properties due to the earthquake.
