NRB to mop Rs 40 billion from banking system for liquidity management

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is going to mop an additional amount of Rs 40 billion from the banking system for liquidity management

The NRB is set to withdraw the excess money in the market for 21 days through a bidding system,  as the banks are unable to increase their loan investment.

The NRB has requested proposals from banks and financial institutions that have faced liquidity challenges. Similarly, Rs 237 billion mopped earlier by the NRB is yet to mature.
