KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is distributing diesel and petrol to private vehicles on Tuesday.

The state-owned petroleum monopoly is distributing fuel from all pumps in Kathmandu Valley from 1 pm. It is providing 5 liters of petrol to two-wheelers and 15 liters to four-wheelers including car, jeep and vans.Laxmi Prasad Dhakal, spokesperson of Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), said all 125 pumps in the Valley will distribute fuel to public vehicles on Tuesday.

NOC is distributing 600,000 liters of petrol on Tuesday. However, one should produce vehicle registration certificate to get fuel.

The government started rationing fuel to vehicles after fuel supplies came to a grinding halt due to unofficial Indian blockade and protest by agitating Madhesi parties in Tarai districts.

Meanwhile, Shambhu Ghimire, spokesperson of Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MoCS), on Sunday refused to provide any information about decisions regarding NOC's global tender to supply petroleum products. "Sharing every detail with journalists is not my responsibility," he added.
