KATHMANDU, April 2: Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya is set to embark on a concert tour in Canada, with performances scheduled in Sudbury, Toronto, and London (Ontario).
The tour will begin on April 10 at Sudbury Community Arena, followed by a show at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto on April 13, and conclude on April 18 at London Music Hall.
Tickets for the Toronto concert have already sold out, while tickets for the other cities are selling rapidly.
Nepathya to embark on first concert tour in Canada on October 1
Nepathya had previously performed in Canada three years ago, with shows in Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto. This time, all concerts are concentrated in Ontario, a region with a growing Nepali community.
Canada has increasingly become a popular destination for Nepali migrants, particularly students, contributing to a rising Nepali presence in cities like Toronto. Reflecting this trend, a proposal has been put forward to observe April 10–17 as “Nepali Heritage Week” in Toronto.
Concert venues will open at 7 pm local time in all three cities.
According to Nepathya’s management, the band is continuing its effort to reach Nepali audiences abroad through dedicated international tours. A 14-member team, including artists and technical staff, will travel to Canada from April 4 to 20.
Lead vocalist Amrit Gurung said the band is encouraged by the enthusiasm of the Nepali community in Canada. “We will carry memories of home and perform with that emotion during the New Year,” he said.
Organizers say the strong ticket sales indicate a large turnout, especially in Toronto, while tickets for Sudbury and London remain available through the band’s official website.
