Nepal, China ink pact on fuel import

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: To address the severe fuel crisis in the country due to unofficial blockade imposed by India, Nepal inked an agreement with China to import fuel. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and China National United Fuel Corporation (CNUFC) signed an agreement in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon to this effect.

A team of Nepali delegation held talks with Chinese foreign ministry, commerce ministry and CNUFC officials on Tuesday and Wednesday regarding the issue.The agreement states on importing petrol, diesel and other petroleum products from China to Nepal.

"With the agreement, the procedure of importing fuel from China moves ahead," Nepalese Ambassador to China Mahesh Maskey informed Republica.
