According to a press release issued by the NSC, the 82nd board meeting held on Thursday has decided to feature 12 events in Mahendranagar and 14 in Dhangadi. Football, kabaddi and volleyball will be held on both the places. [break]
The NSC decided to host these events following a field visit to Far Western Region under the leadership of Onsari Gharti Magar, the minister for Youth and Sports. However, the total number of events to be conducted is yet to be confirmed.
NSC Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama said, "At present, we have decided about only those events which can be conducted in those two places. The venue for events like swimming, shooting and others will be decided shortly."
However, the date for the mega event is yet to be fixed. According to Lama, the event is likely to be held some time in mid February.
NSC has also decided to establish a secretariat for the Far Western Region.
Meanwhile, NSC has called a meeting of regional and district chiefs of the Sports Development Committee on August 27 regarding the upcoming National Games.

Cricket (men/women), hockey, chess, archery, weight-lifting, body-building, wrestling, wushu, taekwondo, kabaddi (women) table tennis (men/women), football, volleyball (men).
Events to be hosted in Dhangadi
Athletics, football, volleyball (women), lawn tennis, soft tennis, handball, judo, kabaddi (men), boxing, karate, badminton, basketball (men/women), gymnastic and cycling.
