KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Nepali national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane has been accused of raping a 17-year-old minor girl.
District Police Range, Kathmandu, issued a statement today and confirmed that a complaint was registered against Lamichhane on Tuesday.

According to the complaint, Lamichhane took the girl to different places in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur on August 21. It is mentioned in the girl's complaint that she was repeatedly raped by Lamichhane that same night. She claimed that Lamichhane raped her in room number 305 of a hotel located in Kathmandu-9.
Along with the registration of the complaint, the police said in a statement that the victim was taken to the One-Door Crisis Management Center for a health examination.
The police have said that they are carrying out a detailed investigation into the matter.
Lamichhane left for Kenya to play the T20 series on August 22.
