Ministry begins probe against unsuccessful DDC

KAPILBASTU, Sept 5: The Ministry of Local Development has initiated investigation of the Kapilbastu District Development Committee (DDC) that has flunked the minimum conditions evaluation assessment for three times in a row.



The Ministry began investigations in this regard from Sunday on the pressure of the 13 different political parties after the DDC failed to pass the minimum required standards in the performance evaluation by the Ministry this year also. [break]



A two-member investigation committee constituted under the convenorship of Under Secretary at the Ministry, Kedar Nath Sharma has started field-level investigation.



An official at the Ministry, Mukti Acharya is also on the investigation team.



The investigation committee will carry out its work under the supervision of the representatives assigned by the 13 political parties in the district that called for the investigation into the reasons why the DDC, Kapilbastu failed in the Ministry’s minimum standards assessment thrice.
