KATHMANDU, Feb 12: A burst in the main pipe of the Melamchi Water Supply Project has flooded one of the buildings of the Special Court and the Kathmandu District Court in Babarmahal, disrupting hearings and causing difficulties for clients, legal professionals, and staff.

The flooding submerged the ground floor, disrupted electricity, and created a chaotic situation on the court premises. Security personnel have launched rescue efforts as judges, staff, and visitors struggled due to the inundation.

The burst pipe has also affected other government offices in the Babarmahal area, with water seeping into nearby settlements.

Even after three hours, repairs have yet to be completed, leaving the court premises and surrounding areas in disarray.
