KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Kathmandu Gorkhas won the toss and elected to field in the opening match of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
At the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu captain Karan KC invited defending champions Janakpur Bolts to bat first. The match, scheduled to begin at 4 PM today, officially marks the start of NPL’s second season.
Janakpur Bolts have taken the field under the captaincy of Anil Shah, while Kathmandu Gorkhas are led by KC. The defending champions are aiming to retain their title, whereas Kathmandu hopes to begin the tournament with a winning start.
Most matches of this edition will be played under floodlights at the recently upgraded TU Ground. A total of eight franchise teams are participating in the tournament.
