KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Krishna Raj Manandhar, trapped inside the bus Ga 2 Kha 1421 during the night accident in Bhainsegaunda, Charaundi, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5, was rescued alive after five hours.
Manandhar, a resident of Imadol, Lalitpur, was pulled out from the crushed bus after the rescue team cut parts of the vehicle. He was immediately referred to Kathmandu for treatment.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sumit Khadka of the District Police Office said that the rescue was delayed due to the difficult terrain and lack of proper equipment. "Passengers were shouting to be saved. We had no immediate tools to lift or cut the bus, so we kept them calm for a long time. Using machinery with a generator, we cut the rear tire area and silencer to extract Manandhar," he said.
The bus, operated by Machhapuchhre Tours and Travels, had departed from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The accident resulted in 19 deaths at the scene and one more during treatment. Twenty-six injured passengers are receiving treatment at various hospitals. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Dhading Hospital and Gajuri Health Center for examination.
