Home Ministry directs DAOs to ensure effective peace and security situation

The MoHA directed the Chief District Officers to carry out their duties by winning public trust. Effective enforcement of law is imperative, the MoHA reminded.

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has directed all district administration offices (DAOs) to maintain an effective and smooth peace and security situation with crime control, good governance, flawless service delivery and hassle-free supply management.



The MoHA directed the Chief District Officers to carry out their duties by winning public trust. Effective enforcement of law is imperative, the MoHA reminded.


The secretary-level decisions at the ministry was for analysing immediate and long term threats to security in the wake of Gen-Z protests and unfolding development. Collection of information, assessment and action in collaboration is underlined.

The government has urged one and all not to provoke the mass but conduct programmes, rallies and meetings in peaceful atmosphere as the preliminary works were begun for the March 5 election.


The government agencies will work in coordination and collaboration to bring back weapons seized from security persons and police offices during the Gen-Z protest. Boosting morale of public servants and security persons would be launched by holding discussion and motivational programmes. Impunity would be ended to earn public trust in local administration and security agencies. Similarly, the security offices are asked to work in collaboration with community. 


Daily reporting system would be in place on the issues of peace and security and disaster management. Chief District Officers are asked to immediately inform the Home Ministry once the event or information that create adverse impact at national and international level, crimes and peace and security. 


Continued vigilance should be ensured for border security, security of border pillars and cross-border crimes. Single or joint patrols are encouraged.
