The provision of Article 145(5) of the Interim Constitution bars the government to deploy the NA in CA polls without prior approval from the parliament.
Last week, the government had recommended the President Yadav to endorse the proposal to mobilize the NA in the CA elections.
A cabinet meeting has been scheduled for this afternoon to discuss and forward an ordinance bill to president to this effect.
Meanwhile, the HLPC meeting also urged the dissenting parties, who have been protesting against the government decision to hold election, to take part in the November 19 elections giving up their all the protest programs.
