Govt subsidy on cooking gas to be reduced gradually

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has decided to reduce the subsidies on the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or cooking gas gradually starting next fiscal year.

Presenting the budget for FY 2022/23 on Sunday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma announced that the subsidy for cooking gas would be gradually reduced.  

Instead, the government has decided to provide subsidies on electricity for household use. The federal government has even announced the plan to provide at least one electric stove to each household through the local government concerned.
