The officials were tipped off about illegal stone extraction going on at Milku River in Tandi, Morang. They were beaten up at Kanchhi Chowk of Madhumalla-9, when they attempted to stop a tractor. Among those beaten up is Yagya Bahadur Thapa, a staffer of Area Forest Office, Urlabari.
The goons rained punches at the officials, apart from hurling stones at them. The victims alleged police did not take action against the assailants despite identifying them.
