Former PLA combatants sit for written examination

CHITWAN, Sept 17: Written examination of former PLA combatants, of the seven camps who have opted integration, has started from 10:30 am on Monday.



Coordinator of the Secretariat under the Army Integration Special Committee, Balananda Sharma, said written examination will conclude today itself.[break]



Sharma said the examination has started from today after conclusion of distribution of cheques to those combatants, who have opted voluntary retirement, on Sunday, and added that results will be published on September 19.



A total of 176 combatants of the Shaktikhor-based Maoist Third Division have sat for the examination.



A total of 1,507 former combatants have received cheques after opting voluntary retirement and around 1,500 of the seven camps, have opted for integration, he said.



A total of 385 former combatants from Chitwan-based Shaktikhor, 105 from Ilam, 139 from Sindhuli, 303 from Surkhet, 317 from Rolpa, 82 from Kailali and 176 from Nawalparasi received the cheques.
