Forest ministry to bring 250 trucks of wood to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: At at time when the country is reeling under acute shortage of fuel, cooking gas and other daily goods, the government has informed of making available firewood for people as an alternative source of cooking.

As per the directives Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Agni Prasad Sapkota, Timber Association of Nepal (TAN) is preparing to bring at least 250 trucks of logs to Kathmandu.A single log would measure 20 feet in length and it will be 5 feet wide and 7 feet in height.

According to the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, the logs will be brought from the forests of Bara and Nawalparasi districts.

The wood will be placed for sale at Balkumari of Lalitpur and Gausala of Kathmandu.
