KATHMANDU, March 19: Minister for Foreign Affairs Arzu Deuba Rana held a meeting with Ricky Gill, Special Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs and National Security Council Senior Director for South and Central Asia, on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Minister Rana requested US support in facilitating the release and repatriation of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national who has been held captive by Hamas since October 7, 2023.
“I appreciated meeting HE Ricky Gill and requested him to facilitate the release and repatriation of Bipin Joshi,” Minister Rana said following the meeting.
The two officials also discussed the long-standing Nepal-US relationship. Minister Rana highlighted that Nepal-US ties are firmly rooted in shared democratic principles and respect for human rights.
Expressing confidence in the future trajectory of bilateral cooperation, Minister Rana added, “I am confident that our cooperation will continue to grow over the years.”
The meeting was part of a series of high-level engagements Minister Rana is holding during her participation in the Raisina Dialogue, India’s flagship multilateral conference on geopolitics and geo-economics.
