KATHMANDU, April 20: The eighth and the final event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2014-15, Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship will tee off Monday at the Gokarna Golf Club in Kathmandu. The four-day event to be played over 72 holes will conclude on Thursday.

Altogether 33 pros will compete in the event along with seven amateurs. Cut will be applied at the end of 36 holes and only top 21 pros and ties will make their journey to the final 36 holes along with the amateurs making the pro cut. The pros will vie for total cash prize of Rs 515,000.
The winner and the runner up will bag Rs 95,000 and Rs 60,000. The second runner up will walk home with Rs 44,000. Top 21 places and ties will earn prize money.Nepal number one, Shiva Ram Shrestha, last event champion Rame Thapa, Rabi Khadka, Sanjay Lama, and Bhuwan Nagarkoti are strong contenders of the tournament. Amateurs taking part in the event include Bikash Bogati, Arun Tamang and Tanka Bahadur Karki.
