Following the scuffle, six students taking the examination at Bindeshwori Higher Secondary School in Rajbiraj were arrested, and the examination which started at 7 in the morninng was disrupted for almost an hour. [break]
And to make the matter worse, it has been reported that around two dozens of examinees also could not appear in the exam after the clash.According to the Deputy Chief District Office, Prem Singh Kuwar, a dispute took an ugly turn after an examination inspection team comprised of members from the District Administration Office and the District Education Office tried to take action against examinees who were caught red-handed cheating in the examination.
“The clash ensued after we tried to initiate action against some students who were openly copying answers from guess papers and guide books,” explained Kuwar.
Superintendent of the examination center, Arun Kumar Jha said that these students started demonstrating after they were expelled from the exam center.
Lately, over 500 students are taking examinations for staff nurses, lab assistants, computer technologists and pharmacists, among others, at various colleges in the district.
After they were not allowed to cheat in the examination, the berated students even vandalized two police jeeps, Inspector Kran Gurung informed.
The District Police Office informed that police arrested six examinees on a charge of instigating the clash.
However, the examinees maintained that they retaliated after the authorities tried to unnecessarily interfere in the exam.
“We could not concrete on the examination as police personals deployed at the exam center entered into the examination hall and started to frisk us,” said an examinee.
