Embassies welcome UNMIN term extension

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Various foreign embassies in Kathmandu have welcomed the UN Security Council´s decision to extend the term of UNMIN.



They have also applauded the renewed commitment of Nepal government and the UCPN (Maoist) to complete the peace process within the next four months.[break]



Representatives of Australia, Canada, Denmark, the European Union Delegation, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Republic of Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States welcomed the commitment of the govenrment and the Maoists to complete the peace process within the next four months.



"We urge the parties to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) to work determinedly and cooperatively to take forward and enact the commitments they have given in the CPA and all associated documents," states a joint press statement issued by the embassies.



They have also expressed their continuing support for Nepal´s transition to a peaceful and stable democracy and have also expressed their willingness to work with all parties to achieve the goal.
