KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased by 7.13 points to close at 2,765.88 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,758.75 points, while it surged 18 points followed by a decline of 16 points in the first half an hour. The index then increased gradually to reach the day’s high at 2,781.60 points when the last one hour was left for transaction. The market shed around 16 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Six out of 13 groups were the losers, with the trading index plunging by the largest of 109.29 points. Of the seven gainers, life insurance surged by the highest of 111.36 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also inclined 0.81 points. Daily turnover fell to Rs 9.90 billion from Rs 11.08 billion on Monday.
Among the individual companies, 104 were gainers while 132 were registered as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 1.02 billion.
Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited, by adding 10 percent in its market value, was recorded as the topmost gainer. Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 8.97 percent of its market worth.
