KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday fell marginally by 7.26 points to close at 2,678.47 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,685.73 points and jumped to the day’s high at 2,697.19 points in the first 20 minutes. The index went downhill in the next moment and hit the day’s low at 2,675.22 points when the trading time was left for 55 minutes. In the remaining period, the market recovered around three points before it closed for the day.
Out of the three gaining groups, the finance index jumped the highest of 51.28 points, followed by microfinance (9.23 points) and investment (0.55 points). Of the 10 losers, non-life insurance shed the largest of 113.76 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 0.52 points. Daily turnover slipped to Rs 7.92 billion from Rs 8.71 billion on Wednesday.
Among the individual companies, 76 were gainers while 162 were registered as losers. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 341.47 million.
Nyadi Hydropower Limited was the topmost loser, while Matribhumi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Kumari Sabal Yojana gained the highest of 10 percent of their market values.
