Customs offices across the country resumed regular operations from Friday morning.

The government had temporarily closed border customs points on both the northern and southern borders and halted regular imports and cross-border movement for 72 hours as part of election security measures.

However, imports of essential goods were not disrupted during the closure period. Petroleum products, cooking gas, fruits, vegetables and other essential supplies continued to be imported and cleared through inspection.
