KATHMANDU, March 22: Continental Associates -- the subsidiary of Continental Trading Enterprises and also the authorized distributor of Kia vehicles for Nepal -- is in the process of expanding its sales network to different parts of the country.

The company is soon bringing into operation three showrooms in the Kathmandu Valley - Jawalakhel, Gairidhara and Dhumbarahi -- and four showrooms outside the Valley.[break]

“As the market scenario at the moment is dull, introducing new cars and branding them in the market may be quite an aggressive step to take.

Therefore we are utilizing this time to expand our network so that we will be easily accessible to our customers when the market starts responding pAositively,” said Sachin Aryal, deputy general manager - Kia Marketing and Service of Continental Associates.

Kia´s new showroom at Gairidhara started operation about a week ago even though it is not formally launched. “The stations at Jawalakhel and Gairidhara will only have showrooms, but the one at Dhumbarahi will offer all the facilities wanted by a customer,” said Aryal.

The showrooms at Jawalakhel and Dhumbarahi are coming into operation in a month.

Kia´s Dhumbarahi showroom will offer regular facilities like sales, spare parts and services along with the sales of reconditioned vehicles.

“This is the first time we are involving in exchange of vehicles.

To begin with, we will be exchanging only Kia cars. We will soon expand ourselves to exchange of vehicles by other brands,” added Aryal.

Continental Associates is also planning to sell reconditioned cars with additional warranties.

Similarly, the showroom at Narayanghat, which is expected to be ready in a month, will also provide 3S facilities -- sales, service and spare parts for the region. “We are also working on to establish showrooms in different parts of the country like Dang, Bhairahawa and Birtamod,” Aryal said, adding, “All these showrooms will come into operation within three months.”
