Chitwan transporters announce protest

CHITWAN, Aug 8: Chitwan transporters announced a protest program of transport strike from Friday after ‘the government failed to address their 42-point demands’. Government has assured them to address 32 out of 42-point demands.



“We will halt transportation from Friday in Chitwan,” Ram Prasad Subedi, vice-chairman of Nepal Rastriya Yatayat Bewasahi Sangh, said. [break]Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai had assured us to implement our demands but it has not been implemented yet.



Transporters have been complaining that they are fined Rs 1,000 every time they fail to produce documents at police check-points. , transporters complain.
