Child drowns in canal

CHITWAN, Oct 31: A child has died while another has gone missing while swimming in a canal of Khageri Irrigation Project on Friday.



Atij Kumal, 11, of Gitanagar-6, drowned in the canal while Niraj Pun of the same place has been missing when they went for swimming on Friday evening during a picnic.



Kumal´s body was recovered on Saturday morning while water supply in the canal has been closed to search for Pun, according to the police.
