Chalise, Shrestha bag positions in Gorkhapatra

KATHMANDU, June 28: The government has appointed Bijaya Chalise and Shambhu Shrestha as chairman and general manager of the Gorkhapatra Corporation, according to Pramod Dahal, advisor to the Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel.



Meanwhile, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Communications Narayan Prasad Regmi said appointments in other vacant posts in the government media will be made very soon.



Chalise has already served as the chief editor of the Gorkhapatra daily and is currently chief editor of Madhuparka, a literary monthly published by the corporation. Likewise, Shrestha is chairman of the Press Chautari Nepal and Chief Editor of Drishti weekly.
