Bajracharya beat Anish Bade of Little Angels (LA) 8-1 to advance into the final of the U-10 while he defeated Bipin Thapa of LA 8-6 in the U-12 category. Bajracharya will meet Navin Joshi of LA in the finals of the U-10 category and Sakchyam Karki in the U-12 finals. [break]
Joshi thrashed Pranav Khanal of St Xavier´s 8-4 in the U-10 boy´s section. In another semifinal of U-12, Karki defeated Samyak Bhusan Bajracharya 8-6.
In the U-10 girls´ Singles, Ani Mathema set up a final clash against Mayanka Rana in the finals. Mathema beat Tshring Sherpa of LA and Rana routed Diwa Lama on similar 8-2.
In the U-9 boys´ singles, Sworaj KC and Dip Rana of LA defeated Shreeyansh Shrestha and Aditya Subedi of St Xavier´s respectively for the final spots. KC beat Shrestha 10-4, 10-0 while Rana overcame Subedi 10-4, 8-10, 10-6.
Similarly, Utshavi Joshi and Riyasha Baidya of Rato Bangala beat Nima Roka of LA and Abhilasha Bista of St Xavier´s respectively for the final place in the U-9 girls´ singles. Joshi beat Roka 10-5, 10-4 while Baidhya registered 10-4, 10-6 win over Bista.
In the boys´ U-14 category, Sudarsan Sigdel beat Sakchyam Karki 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 and Abhay Gauchan defeated Anukul Shrestha 6-1, 6-1 for securing berth in the final. In the doubles event of the same age group, the pair of Sigdel and Pranav Kayastha will face Gauchan and Aavash Malla in the final. In U-14 girls´ doubles, Manjita Nyacha and Pritika Manandhar will meet Geeta Shrestha and Aakriti Acharya of the host LA in the final.
In the U-18 boys´singles, Pranjal Kayestha will lock horns with Taraman Gurung in the finals. Kayestha beat Suman Karki 6-2, 6-4 as Gurung thrashed Ganesh Karki 6-0, 6-1.
Pranav Kayastha and Sudarsan Sigdel were awarded Nike lucky player of the day. Both Kayastha and Sigdel will receive gift hampers worth Rs 5,000 from Nike showroom.
