TAPLEJUNG, Feb 25: The government's negotiation team proposed halting the cable car construction and called the agitating party for talks. The agitating party, in response, is preparing to announce its stance.
Kirti Man Maden, a leader of the agitating party, said their leaders are in discussions and will soon release a press statement. However, he did not disclose the specific issues the statement would address.
Sources revealed that the agitating party is discussing joining the talks only if certain conditions are met, including the release of detained "No Cable Car" supporters and the withdrawal of security forces from the cable car construction site.
Leaders have also started debating whether to participate in the negotiations led by a joint secretary-level team. However, the agitating party has not commented on this matter.
On Monday evening, Home Ministry Joint Secretary Prem Prasad Bhattarai and his negotiation team formally invited the "No Cable Car" group for talks. The government team urged them to resolve the issue through dialogue and proposed an immediate suspension of cable car construction.
