No new PM before upper house is formed: NC

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML find themselves at odds  whether the new prime minister should be elected prior to the formation of the National Assembly, the upper house of parliament.

DHANGADHI, Dec 14: In Province 7, the left alliance comprising of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) is set to form its provincial government after winning majority of seats in the recent election. The only question that remains is who would be the province's chief minister.

The vote count has concluded for the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) for the House of Representatives and provincial Assembly elections on Wednesday. As per the final result, CPN-UML has emerged as largest party with secureed victory on 80 seats to the House of Representatives and 168 seats on provincial assemblies. Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has won in 36 seats on Houseof Representatives and 73 seats on provincial assemblies.

Rs 820 billion required to run federal system
